Laurie has an extensive background in theatre and has won numerous awards including an Ovation Award for Times Like These in 2004. And two Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Awards; one for her title role performance in Mary Barnes and another as Denise Savage in Savage in Limbo. Two other favorite roles include Queen Elizabeth in Shakespeare in Love, and Baby Piggy in the cartoon series Muppet Babies. Laurie has been acting since she can remember and continues to do so because she must.

After serving in the Israeli military in special ops, Eric Ronn relocated to the U.S. to produce and write independent short films that were selected in festivals. He formed On the Ronn Productions and produced features and shorts. is currently managing Direct-Response commercials for new media companies with hundreds of millions of views. He is also in the pre-production stages of adapting the Holocaust book The Man From The Other Side into a feature animation film for young adults. Because baking was a big part of the lockdown activities, Eric thought it would be the perfect opportunity to adapt a play he saw, Pie in the Sky into a feature film.
Maria Gobetti

Maria Gobetti, an acclaimed director of more than 80 plays, is a member of SAG/AFTRA, AEA, and the DGA. While having directed Stage and TV, this marks Maria Gobetti’s debut as a film director. She directed the Victory Theatre’s first production and the world premiere of the critically acclaimed The Miss Firecracker Contest. Maria also teaches at The Victory Theatre and the New York Film Academy. She has coached at many major studios and directed at Disney. Having directed the critics’ choice, world premiere theatre production of Pie in The Sky, she is delighted to have directed its film version with the wonderful original cast. Working with Tom Ormeny as Artistic Director and Eric Ronn as producer was wonderful fun.

Navid Tavakolnia is an LA-based award-winning filmmaker who is best known for his Director of Photography artworks. He has experience in many projects on different platforms with millions of views; from TV shows and commercials to music videos and short films. Pie in the Sky will be his first feature film that is going to be shot as a one-take movie.

Lawrence Thelen is the author of the play Higgins in Harlem, which premiered at the Playhouse on Park in 2014; and the comedy Ichabod Crane Tells All, featured in the anthology Best American Short Plays, 2011-2012. Other published works include the comedy Eating Rhode Island, and the book The Show Makers: Great Directors of the American Musical Theatre. His fiction and non-fiction have appeared in Dramatics Magazine and Show Music Magazine. His comic opera Pyramus and Thisbe was produced in New York by the 92nd Street Y, and his musical The Third Wave received the Jackie White Memorial Playwriting Award. For 7 years, he was the Literary Manager and Producing Associate for Goodspeed Musicals.
Tom Ormeny

Tom Ormeny was born into a theatrical family in Hungary and continues the legacy as Artistic Co-Director of the Victory Theatre Center. He produced the world premiere comedies Pie in the Sky by Lawrence Thelan, The Engine of Our Ruin, by Jason Wells, Resolving Hedda by Jon Klein, and Sex and Education by Lissa Levin. Currently, he and Maria Gobetti are workshopping plays to pick a post-pandemic season for the Victory. As a director, Tom received many awards for the Victory’s production of The Mound Builders, he directed a world premiere production for The National Theatre of Hungary and recently, the world premiere of Showpony by Judith Leora. He has numerous producing credits including the Drama Critics Circle award-winning On the Money, by Kos Kostmayer, and over
Evan A. Bartoletti creates award-winning production designs for the stage, screen, opera, and dance. Projects range from world premieres of Showpony and Pie in the Sky, to the West Coast premiere of entering Laughing at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts directed by Stuart Ross. He has also designed scores of musicals such as Dreamgirls or Chicago. As a guest designer, he worked on productions of Amadeus, South Pacific, Les Misérables, and Rent for the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and the Hollywood Bowl. He was responsible for the production design of the innovative, multidisciplinary dance performance Strings Attached Mr. Bartoletti was nominated for an Ovation Award in 2017 for the set design of Pie in The Sky. He and Lisa D. Lechuga comprise Lechetti Design doing floral & live-entertainment design.

Roland is a production sound mixer and a Southern California native. He earned a BA degree in sound engineering from CSUDH and has worked in the entertainment industry for over 25 years. He previously served in the defense industry and continues to serve in the California Military Department as a Military Policy officer.His sound mixer credits include television features, documentaries, commercials and numerous projects for the automotive industry and nonprofit organizations. In his spare time he can be found cycling and salt water fishing.
Kevin is a French actor and voice-actor based in Los Angeles. He obtained a BFA in Acting for
Film in 2017 and has been active ever since. His credits include TV, theater, video games, and his
voice work ranges from movie and TV dubs to live translation. One thing that he enjoys
particularly is bringin back people he loves and trusts from one project to the next. Kevin is also
currently writing his own feature.
August is a freelance editor and Post Producer based in Los Angeles. With nearly a decade of professional experience in post-production, his editing work has earned over 100 million views.
